On 'Hi Art' board. (b) Standby [felt pen on paper cover over drawing] The prisoners Paul and Jacques Rose, 23 and 19, and Francis Simard, 23, Bernard Lortie, 19, are waiting for the elevator to take them up to the courtroom. All four are handcuffed to police officers. Al four are in the clothes they were arrested in, and look unkept. The Rose brothers and Simard are quiet but sullen. Lortie is being pulled by the police officer, and appears somewhat distraught., Since no cameras were allowed in court, this illustration was one used on the television news to illustrate the progress of the trial., The accused had been kept at Bordeaux jail. The inquest into the murder of Pierre Laporte, and the arraignment were held in the same building, the Montréal, Québec Department of Justice building on Parthenais Street., This collection contains 9 sketchbooks and 15 (approx.) large works. Sketches were for political cartoons, mostly of FLQ trials, 1970-71.
