A sketch of the room and furniture in which the arraignment and inquest took place with annotations, The Court Room is rectangular; part of the ceiling is covered with fluorescent lighting (through a screen). The Judge's bench occupies the centre and is raised, the court clerks sit below him. Lawyers sit facing the judge. The witness box is to one side of the room. Doors are to each side of the judge's bench. There is a parquet floor., The same courtroom in the Québec Justice Building on Parthenais Street, Montréal, was used for both the inquest into Pierre Laporte's death, and the arraignment of Paul and Jacques Rose, Francis Simard and Bernard Lortie, who were accused of kidnapping and murdering the Québec Minister.
