A bronze medal commemorating the life of Chilperic II, son of Childeric II and twentieth King of France. Though the rightful and sole King of the Franks, Chilperic II faced challenges from Charles Martel, Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia, who placed Clotaire IV (or Clothar IV) on the throne in Chilperic's place. Upon the death of Clotaire IV, Chilperic was granted sole kingship over all Franks in return for recognizing Martel as Mayor over all kingdoms (not just Austrasia). Chilperic II's troubled reign is a perfect example of how too much power had been left in the hands of the French nobility.

The obverse side of this medal displays a bust of Chilperic II by Armand Caqué.

The reverse side of this medal is engraved with a short history of Chilperic II.
