A bronze medal commemorating the life of Childebert I, sixth King of France and the third of Clovis' four sons. Upon the death of his father, Childebert and his brothers divided the Kingdom of France amongst themselves. Childebert was made King of Paris as well as of the country to the west, as far as the English Channel and modern Brittany.

The obverse side of the medal displays a bust of Childebert I by Armand Caqué.

The reverse side of the medal is engraved with a short history of Childebert I.
