The object is a bronze medallic disc commemorating the Western Canada Tour of August to September 1905, under the auspices of the Western Canadian Immigration Association.

The obverse side of the object shows the medal being suspended by a ribbon displaying the flags of Canada and the United States. Above the flags is a banner line that reads "Agricultural Press." The medal itself displays a sunburst, while above the sunburst it names the tour (Western Canada Tour) and below it names the hosts of the tour (Western Canadian Immigration Association) and the year of the tour (1905).

The reverse side of the object displays a facing photographic bust of Sir Wilfrid Laurier with a glossy convex surface in a narrow plain gilt frame, suspended by a tricolour silk ribbon inscribed with the words "Reception de Sir Wilfrid Laurier/Festival d'automne/Chicago, 1899."
