A / low lying fog was very thick on the / water. It was very cold. i.e. / temperature [^was Down to] 50[^o]. It is / always cold on Lake Superior. The angle of the sun seemed about 45 [^o]. / The effect stayed a very long time. / The Captain could give no information / on the subject.
