This item is the left-side end of a panoramic view of Montréal seen from Ile Ste-Hélène. Its sister piece, registered under accession number R9266-425.2 (Sotheby's inventory no. W441), was found in a separate box without mount or matting and was listed as possibly being the work of artist Berdoe Amherst Wilkinson (because work# W441 was found in the same drawer as another Montréal view by Wilkinson)., The verso of this work includes a small rough sketch of a landscape with a house and trees on the bank of a river or lake.
