A landscape view of the Pyrenean mountains with the city of Laruns, France visible at the base of the mountains. A river runs along the side of the city and under a bridge; a horse and carriage are traversing over the bridge., George Heriot travelled through Europe in 1820; he travelled in France and crossed the Pyraneans to Spain around May 1820. Heriot wanted to publish a series of views of the Pyranean mountains. (Finley, Gerald. George Heriot. Toronto, 1983, pp 170-175).
