This lithograph may have been printed in Canada. It is unclear to what the reference "M. Airey" in the inscription refers. It may be a reference to the artist of the original composition on which the print is based. Sir Richard Airey was the nephew of Colonel Talbot and was posted in southwestern Ontario (primarily London) from 1830s to 1852. It is possible the inscription refers to him or a member of his family., Preservation copy photographs, both b&w and colour transparency, are held in the Loans and Exhibitions area of Preservation Branch.
