Anne was the daughter of John Easthope, business associate of Simon McGillivray at the Morning Chronicle. She married Simon in 1837. A miniature by Robertson in listed in Royal Academy records for 1839; possibly this is the same one. The sitter is wearing costume of the middle 1830's to 1840's, and details reflect her comfortable station in life. The National Archives collection includes another miniature of a more youthful Anne probably from ca. 1830. The frame is imitation Japanese lacquer., Colour transparency: recto in frame.
