The sitter is in 3/4 pose to waist, head turned slightly to sitter's right to face viewer., He has has brown/grey fluffy wavy hair, round dark eyes; wearing red military coat with beige lapels on collar, gold trim and white regimental band (96), white shirt with ruff front and black scarf., The miniature is flatly painted, the sitter has a very pinkish complexion, on white background., The miniature is encased in gold locket with glassed windows recto and verso, with woven brown hair in back window.

Artist previously known as: Unknown 252. This miniature has been attributed to Frederick Buck (1771 - ca. 1839/40).
