During Kumsa's seven year imprisonment in Ethiopia, Timothy was involved in her case through PEN, an international movement. This tape, which exemplifies his correspondence with her, deals with his recent journey to a few Canadians provinces, his friends such as Bill Whitehead, his frustrations as a writer and his novel "Inside Memory".~On side B, he talks about his stimulating experiences with students, his book "The Telling of Lies", his bad smoking habit, and the novel that he is working on "The Piano Man's Daughter" (1995).
