Flash -- A Hot Story -- People escaping the hot weather crowd beaches on the east coast of the United States. Shot of some sort of parachute machine. Something for the Ladies (and Men, Too) -- Outdoor fashion show in San Francisco's Union Square. First Lady is Hostess on a Boat Ride -- Mamie Eisenhower, Mrs. Anthony Eden and Mrs. [Lucie] Faure take a boat cruise on Lake Geneva. Picking Miss Universe -- Miss Sweden wins the Miss Universe beauty pageant in Long Beach, California. This is followed by the News of Canada segment, featuring three stories. Oil Fire Sends Black Clouds Over Toronto -- Fire in a 10,000-gallon oil tank on the Toronto waterfront sends black clouds over the city skyline. Shows water being sprayed by fire fighters. Story titled Red Coat is New Chief of Blackfeet shows Royal Canadian Mounted Police Commissioner L. H. Nicholson being welcomed into the Blackfoot Nation at a ceremony in Calgary, Alberta and giving the name Chief Never Sit Down. 17-Year-Old is Queen City's Prettiest Miss -- Miss Toronto 1955 beauty contest at the Canadian National Exhibition grandstand, showing contestants in bathing suits and winner, Sheila [Billing], age 17. Mayor Nathan Phillips congratulates the winner.
