He announces that the Queen will be heard live by the people in the Far North. He then speaks of the history of Prince Edward Island, of the meaning of the ceremonies held 106 years ago in Charlottetown, and of the 100th anniversary of the province as part of the Canadian confederation. Prime Minister Trudeau is the next speaker. He talks, in French and English, about the history of Canada and of Prince Edward Island. He introduces the Queen. Queen Elizabeth reads her speech in French and English, mentioning the PEI celebration and the coming anniversary of the RCMP - which she will attend when she visits Regina.
