A tape-recorded message from President Dwight D. Eisenhower, beamed on 4 June 1959 via the moon from the radar transmitter at Millstone Hill, Mass. to the Prince Albert Radar Laboratory was played and was followed by a reply message from Prime Minister Diefenbaker transmitted via telephone land lines from Prince Albert to Millstone Hill.
