The various national contingents mingle in procession. They dip their flags as they take the Olympic Oath. People practise at the skating rink. The start of the heat of the 500m skating race is shown firstly at normal speed, and then in slow motion. The heats continue. Vallenius of Finland, shown in portrait shot, won his heat and was fourth in the final. Miss Muckett (GB) demonstrates her technique in the ladies' figure-skating. Mrs. Szabo-Plank of Austria, who won the figure skating, in action. A small child gives a demonstration. The final of the ice hockey is between Canada and the United States. The teams are posed, with the goalkeepers singled out: Cameron for Canada and Lacroix for the USA. The match is shown in detail. Some of the lady spectators watch in slacks, "masculine garb, they found it much more convenient than skirts".
