She recalls her years as a nurse in Montreal and the discriminatory practices she witnessed and experienced during her work. She explains how she left her profession and returned to her home town, Chatham, New Brunswick, where, in 1975, she worked as a journalist and became editor of a weekly newspaper, The Miramichi Leader. Then she discusses her experience as a radio announcer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Fredericton, doing public relations and contract work in current affairs; her move to Prince Edward Island where she was made editor of the Atlantic Fisherman; her move to Halifax where she was offered editorship of the Atlantic Insight, a general interest magazine; and finally, her current work as a freelance writer and broadcaster.Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
