L'Hermitte au ministre. Plan des fortifications. A cause d'un nombre insuffisant d'ouvriers, les fortifications n'avancent pas vite. Pourquoi il ne faut pas établir le fort sur le Gaillardin. On n'a pas confiance en lui, puisqu'on ne lui donne pas droit de regard sur les fonds des fortifications. La maçonnerie a cessé à la fin d'octobre, faute de fonds. Abondance de pierre à chaux. Lasseron. Dangeac mérite la place de La Salle. Chaque année, le vent et la marée emportent une partie des piquets du fort. Le brigantin commandé par Chacornacle a été pris aux alentours de Boston. S'il n'est pas promu, il préfère quitter «un mauvais pays comme celui-ci». Il recommande de Teinville pour la compagnie de Chacornacle. Ses appointements.
