Captain Rochford of the Royal Navy was one of the naval captains at Quebec with Saunders' fleet. He married a great aunt (some times removed) of te donor..
This work was not accessioned when it arrived at the Public Archives. It was catalogued in 1931, but there is no RG 37 "C" Series record relating to its acquisition..
