Half-length portrait painting of Field-Marshal the 1st Marquis Townshend (George Townshend), born 1724-died 1807, army officer and amateur artist who was part of Wolfe's army at Quebec. Work by Mather Brown (1761-1831). There are other copies of this work as well.
This work was not accessioned when it arrived at the Public Archives of Canada in 1949. See RG 37 General Accession Files 1949..
The work is OP01018. It was located in 0330-Rack 13B as of February 1997.
