Collection search - Charles Eugene Moss collection [graphic material]

Two paintings, the first entitled "Dr. Kingsford [William Kingsford, Canadian historian, born 1819-died 1898]", which was exhibited at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Spring Exhibition 1898, as well as the Royal Canadian Academy, 1898; the second entitled "The Old Gate House at Rockcliffe Part of the site of the Present Pavilion", an undated work. Works by Charles Eugene Moss (1860-1901).
There is no record of the acquisition of these works in NA records. However, the Kingsford portrait bears a plaque stating that it was a gift of the artist, and it was catalogued on 1/8/31; the catalogue card for the second work is now lost, but it probably came from the same source at the same time. The painting of the "Old Gate House" (C-019027) was located in 0330-B025-01 as of february 11, 1997.
