Archival footage assembled for research and/or use in the CBC television documentary series The Days Before Yesterday. Shows: footage about the Halifax Explosion of December 6, 1917; the Belgian relief ship Imo, remains of Richmond Printing Company's building; remains of Richmond School; freight terminal; relief workers carrying body of Robert Johnstone; ruins of sugar refinery; damaged interior of Empire Theatre; Halifax Hotel and various other Halifax buildings; Barrington Street business section; the city hall being used as a relief depot; Academy of Music; American Red Cross supplies sent by the state of Massachusetts and the collection of food and clothes from Montreal at the Masonic Temple.
