Scenes include shots of the premier of Nova Scotia, Angus L. Macdonald; of Mrs. Magill, wife of one of the three trapped miners; and of a diagram of the rescue operation; the actual rescue, at 1am, April 23, of two of the men after ten days entombed down the collapsed mine shaft. One of the rescued men, Dr. D. Edwin Robertson, is flown to the city hospital in a Royal Canadian Air Force seaplane, while the second man, Alfred Scadding, is placed in a waiting ambulance.
