CBC television program of news features and news reports as follows:~Recovery of the Atom. The atomic energy plant at Chalk River, Ontario breaks down due to radiation escaping from the casing. There is a sequence on using pipelines to drain the atomic pile. The atomic pile is repaired and rebuilt with improvements. There is footage of research into liquified gas and neutrons. The interior of the plant is shown.~Standby British Empire. The British Empire Games, featuring competitors from Commonwealth countries, opens in Vancouver, British Columbia. There are visuals of Empire Stadium in Vancouver, the swimming pool and the bicycle track, the arrival of John Landy of Australia, divers, swimmers, and cyclists. The ticket sales division of the games is shown in operation.~The Golden Chariot. Tourists aboard Montreal's open-air observation tram-car known as The Golden Chariot visit the sites of Montreal. There are visuals of St. Catherine Street, buildings and stores, the Jacques Cartier bridge, the University of Montreal, and St. Joseph's Oratory.~Cowboys and Indians. Day of activities at a boys' camp on Sharbot Lake, near Perth, Ontario. The campers are shown canoeing, sailing, water-skiing, and playing Indian warriors at night. Boys attend an open-air religious service. A monkey and a dog are shown swimming.~Monkee Business Zoo. Various animals are shown being fed at the Riverdale Zoo in Toronto.
