Now, he asks Tague to let him out in return for which he will have Tague cure the mayor of New York's daughter so that Tague can marry her. The devil escapes. Tague tries to remove the fish bone from the girl's mouth, but the devil, residing there, only laughs. Tague finally thinks of a solution he tells the devil that his mother-in-law is coming.
