Part one consists of dramatized incidents from the career of Maurice Levinson, novelist and short story writer, as a London cabby.~Part two consists of an interview by Bernard Braden with the British film director, David Lean. Braden asks, "Do you think the improvements in British pictures have been sudden and phenomenal, or the result of work before the war?" Lean replies, "We were quick to seize the opportunity presented by the war, and we developed a quality of realism". Lean says that the British film industry has the same problems as Hollywood, a shortage of material and the need for stars. He says British film-makers now make films in their own way, instead of imitating. He does not think Hollywood directors have the near ideal conditions that exist in Britain. <30mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
