Part 1. Royal Family planning trip to Canada. Departure from London and arrival in Quebec. Sequences on their visit in Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. View of Montreal from Mount Royal; Trooping the Colours in Ottawa, laying the cornerstone for the Supreme Court Building and dedicating the War Memorial. In Toronto, the Royal visitors attend the King's Plate race at Woodbine. Personalities appearing: King George, Queen Elizabeth, the Princesses, Mackenzie King, Ernest Lapointe, Lord Tweedsmuir. Part 2. Empire Day in Winnipeg; visit with the RCMP in Regina and with Indians in Calgary. After a stopover at Banff, the visitors proceed to Vancouver for ceremonies, and to Victoria. Sequence on a military parade in that city. On their way back east, the Royal couple visit a veterans' hospital. Sequences on their visit to New York and Washington. In the US, they are welcomed by President and Mrs. Roosevelt, Vice President Garner, Sir Ronald and Lady Lindsay and J. Pierpont Morgan. Part 3. While in the US the King and Queen visit Arlington Cemetery, and New York City. Sequence on a tremendous welcome in New York, and on their visit to Columbia University. After attending church with the Roosevelts, the visitors go on to Saint John, NB and leave for England from Halifax, NS. Shots ot their arrival in London and greetings by dignitaries led by Neville Chamberlain. <31mn>
