Serial drama about Joyce Jordan a woman in her thirties, recuperating from a breakdown, who doesn't know Uncle Kenneth has dropped dead just after raising money to pay the fine for her drunken, no-good husband. The scene is a room in the courthouse where her husband appears before the magistrate, supposedly to get his official discharge after the fine is paid. But, no, the husband, Dean Russell, wants to take the jail term and use the fine money to ship his uncle's body back to his old hometown. In talking to Dean, the Judge discovers that he started drinking heavily because he felt himself unable to compete with his very successful wife, Joyce. Their adopted son thinks Dad is terrific and the couple are planning a divorce before the boy is dissillusioned. The Judge says that he is probably a sucker but he lends Dean the money to ship his uncle home, and urges Dean to prove him wrong by going straight. A day later, having accompanied his Uncle's body to Preston (Ohio?), Dean wanders in the garden of his old home which he had shared with Joyce in the early years of their marriage. He re-lives a scene from the past during which he had given her a rose from the garden for her hair and listened to her speak their wonderful future together. A boy, passing on his bike, is amazed to see Dean with a rose in his outstretched hand, offering it to the empty air.~The serial begins with: Calling Dr. Jordan, Dr. Joyce Jordan. Joyce Jordan, an attractive young woman in her thirties and the intriguing story of her experiences as a woman and as a doctor. <15mn>

1. For reference tape see 1982-0076/0076, cut 5.~2. Crisco commercials include an offer for a watime cookbook.~3. This episode begins withhearty laughs which are part of a Crisco commercial in which Mrs. X relates how she made a pie for her 25th anniversary dinner. Struggling with laughter she reports that it came out with a leather crust. But next time she smartened up and used Crisco.
