A l'approche de la cinquantaine, un homme, jusque-là enraciné au Québec où il a poursuivi une carrière fructueuse, choisit de s'établir à Toronto. Une décision inattendue qui déconcerte son entourage.~Aujourd'hui, après dix années d'exil volontaire, François-X. Chamberland, peintre et réalisateur d'émissions radiophoniques, a trouvé place au sein de la communauté francophone et du milieu artistique torontois. Les liens qu'il a tissés avec les 150 000 fidèles auditeurs francophones de sa ville d'adoption l'ont marqué... Tout comme l'a fait sa compagne, Betty, qui ne se laisse cependant pas berner par les apparences du bonheur.~De temps à autre, la nostalgie habite notre homme... Et son goût du Québec resurgit avec encore plus de force lorsque sa famille se dérobe... Le grand-père devient alors chagrin...
