Newsreel footage of a fire at the E.B. Eddy plant in Hull, Quebec. An enormous stockpile of 200,000 cords of pulpwood burn, damaging the Interprovincial Bridge connecting Ottawa and Hull. Firefighters pour seven million gallons of water on the fire, bringing it under control after 36 hours. Footage shows: various shots of fire at night as pulpwood burns; pulpwood pile burning the following morning; twisted conveyor belt; Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, as seen from across the river where the pulp mill is located; wreckage of conveyor machinery; spectators; Hull Fire Chief Bond and Ottawa Fire Chief Burnett; thousands of cords of pulpwood; fire fighters strugging to bring the fire under control; firefighters play water on logs; fire throwing off heat waves; heat-twisted rails of the Interprovincial Bridge; pulp pile burning; twisted train rails and buckled steel plates on bridge; conveyor wreckage; fire fighters on pulp pile; more shots of conveyor and pile of pulpwood; Parliament Buildings shown from damaged bridge; longshot of bridge with fire in background; E.B.
