Canada is the second country, behind the United States, to inaugurate this service.~Men and women model new fashions. A man wears a tuxedo made of 14-karat gold thread.~In New Westminster, British Columbia, members of the Honourable and Ancient Hyat Anvil Battery celebrate Victoria Day by firing 21 anvils while a band plays. The tradition began in 1871 when Chinook Indians fired anvils instead of an old cannon that had become too hazardous to use. A medicine man inspects the members of the battery. This kind of salute is performed for the first time in 28 years. There is a misfire. The reporter speaks in a mock-Indian voice.~Students look for summer jobs in British Columbia. There are visuals of buildings on the campus of the University of British Columbia, students looking at board for job postings, interview of John McLean the Director of Student Services at the university who says that many students may not be able to continue their education if they do not get summer jobs, interviews with students about the lack of jobs, and female students working at a playground.
