First World War-era footage of a Model-T style ambulance, identified on the grill as "Berbet" or "Berget"; ambulances assembling and preparing close to the front lines; the sterilization car including a disinfecting stove and an operating theatre; and the x-ray car used to locate metal splinters.~French army ambulance drivers and attendants on parade in front of their vehicles. The ambulances move off in a cloud of smoke. Construction of huts for a temporary base is shown, using prefabricated wooden frame and siding. The roof's framework is covered with tarpaulin. A disinfecting unit with boiler and stove mounted on the supply truck. Plumbers are shown connecting radiators and wash basins to a mobile central heating boiler. Portable operating tables are set up in seconds. The mobile x-ray truck interior is shown in use. The radiologist wears a head harness supporting the x-ray screen over the patients body. The machine is under the led. (Unique footage of the technique of the period).
