The analytical plotter can produce highly accurate maps from satellite photographs.~Technical explanations and visuals of the computerized device are shown.~The machine was offered to Canadian industry for development and manufacture but no one was interested. An Italian firm bought the invention, manufactured it and is selling the plotter to the United States Defence Department and to the Canadian government.~Industry complained that the development costs were prohibitive and the government is blaming industry for lack of initiative.~The following people are interviewed: Dr. Helava and Dr. Bracket, both of the National Research Council; Douglas Kendal, President, Hunting Survey Corporation of Canada; Jack Freedman, North American representative for the Italian firm manufacturing the plotter; and L.E.
