Pages for the year 1953 in Mary Hallen's diary, gives an account of her trying to get the Indian Abraham Miller's portrait done and of his death in the same year, the diary is in Vol. 5, file 12 under Mary (Hallen) Gilmour Series, Diaries Sub-series; artwork item 50 is a sketch of his burial; in a letter addressed to the London Times dated 28 February 1953 written by Preston Hallen, Mary's brother, it gives a biographic resumé of Abraham Miller and mentions his sister's sketch, this letter is in Vol. 6, file 3 under George Jr., Edgar, Preston, Skeeler Williams and Richard Hallen Series.
