Fonds consists of four portraits by May Stratton, including the following sitters; the Hon. James Sutherland, Sir Frederick Borden, Sir Charles Fitzpatrick and Sir Richard Scott.

The fonds also contains four portraits, by Lily Stratton, of the following sitters; the Hon. W. Mulock, the Hon. Sidney Fisher, the Hon. R. Prefontaine and H.M. Edward VII, as well as a watercolour of Papineau Castle at Montebello, Quebec.

Stratton family : The sisters, Lily and May Stratton, were both artists who worked out of the same portrait studio in Ottawa; producing not only portraits, but landscape and still life paintings as well. The sisters both studied under Franklin Brownwell at the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and both exhibited at the Academy on several occasions. Additionally, both sisters were honorary vice-presidents of the Ottawa Women's Art Association, executives of the Ottawa Women's Liberal Club and members of the Women's Canadian Historical Society.
