Accession consists of architectural drawings pertaining to the Parliament buildings in Ottawa (including prospective Peace Tower designs, fittings & plaques for the House of Commons, furniture designs for the Senate and designs for the parliamentary post office), the federal Post Office building & the Citadel in Quebec City, the Public Archives building on Sussex Drive in Ottawa and other proposed or unidentified government & office buildings (some of these latter drawings may have been design proposals for the Justice Building and the Confederation building in Ottawa). Also included are a number of drawings pertaining to private residences and a map of transportation routes in Ottawa.

Drawings were drawn or checked by T. Dunlop Rankin. Items #47, 48, 63 & 67 drawn by W.C. Chambers. Item #65 drawn by R. Steele. Item #68 signed by Cauchon, chairman & technical advisor. Items #28 to 41 credited to Ross & MacFarlane, architects. Chief Architects for the Department of Public Works credited include D. Ewart, E.L. Norwood, T.W. Fuller and Richard C. Wright.

Accession includes 44 pencil, 3 pencil & watercolour, 2 pencil & pencil crayon (all on paper or tracing paper), 6 blueprints, 1 brownline print and 12 photostat reproductions.

Many of the drawings have been conserved., Linen backing on item #32 is separating from drawing.

Accession was transferred in 1979 from the Manuscript Division (MG30-B115).
