Description:

The Devil Bear is an adventure thriller about Captain Epsom and Borno his tame gorilla and ship's mascot. During a mutiny on the ship The Badger, Captain Epsom is injured by a blow on the head which makes him insane but the gorilla (called by Indians "The Devil Bear") rescues him and hides him in a cave, along the shores of lake Superior. The plot becomes more complicated as "The Devil Bear" foils some villains and rescues a missionary's daughter, Werta Brandon, who turns out to be in love with geologist Bert Sifton, whose partner, Jack Crawford, is trying to cheat him out of their mine. "The Devil Bear" helps sort out their problems too and, when another blow on the head restores Captain Epsom to his right mind, all ends happily. <64mn 33s>
