The sub-series consists of maps that were created in the Canadian Geographic Information System. The Federal Lands Program Collection (Project 204-2101) was part of the Canada Lands Data Systems Division, Lands Directorate, data holdings that were managed in the Canadian Geographic Information System (CGIS). The program was established to gather data on the location and extent of land for which the federal government has some legal jurisdiction. The primary data source is the Central Real Property Inventory (CRPI) maintained by Public Works, although other departmental sources were also used. Coverages include:

(8001) Federal lands of less than 64.7 hectares included in the CRPI as well as Indian Reserves at the 1:250 000 scale;
(8002) National coverage of federal lands of less than 2.5 hectares at 1:50 000 (point data);
(8003) National coverage of federal lands of less than 64.7 hectares at 1:250 000 (point data);
(8023) Federal lands of the Montreal region at less than 2.5 hectares at 1:50 000 (point data);
(8024) Federal lands of the Montreal region at less than 64.7 hectares at 1:250 000 (point data);
(9317) Federal lands in the Montreal region of less than 2.5 hectares at 1:50 000 (polygon data);
(9318) Federal lands of the Montreal region of less than 64.7 hectares at 1:250 000 (polygon data);
(8085) 1986 Federal Lands of Canada at 1:250 000 (point data);
(950) National coverage related to coverage 8002 (polygon data);
(955) National coverage related to coverage 8003(polygon data);
(985) 1986 Federal Lands of Canada related to coverage 8085 (polygon data).

This collection also consists of several overlay coverages. One should refer to the finding aid to determine the focus of these thematic coverages and the associated coverage codes.
