The sub-series consists of maps that were created in the Canadian Geographic Information System. The Long Range Transport of Airborne Pollutants (LRTAP) Data Collection (Project 201-2102) was part of the Canada Lands Data Systems Division, Lands Directorate data holdings that were managed in the Canadian Geographic Information System (CGIS).
The LRTAP Pilot Study contains the following coverages:
(8040) Trois-Rivieres Lakes 0-20; (8050) Trois-Rivieres Lakes 0-20; Point information for LRTAP-Quebec Lakes contains the water bodies in Trois Riviere using remote sensing map with a reflectance factor of 0-20; (8051) Trois-Rivieres Lakes 0-27. Point information for LRTAP-Quebec Lakes contains the water bodies in Trois Riviere using remote sensing map; with a reflectance factor of 0-27.
(8041, 8043, 8045, 8048, 8054, 8055, 8056, 8057, 8059, 8060, 8061) coverages related to Quebec Lakes (data does not exist).
(9162) Bedrock Geology - Carbonate Bearing Rocks. This coverage illustrates map information supplied by the Ontario Geological Survey to identify areas of carbonate bearing rocks in southern Ontario. This is a single coverage which contains four partial 1:1 million map sheets.
(9163) LRTAP Ecodistricts. This coverage illustrates the ecodistricts and ecoregions of Canada. The information is supplied by the provinces in coordination with Lands Regional Offices. The data is to be overlayed with shoreline, OLI and Bedrock Geology. This is a single coverage and contains the equivalent of 30 partial 1:1 million map sheets.
(9173) The Ontario Land Inventory (OLI), published by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Land Inventory Unit, in May 1976, was digitized in the CGIS for the LRTAP pilot study. This coverage is to be overlayed with bedrock geology, watershed, vegetation and eco-district data. This data was stored as a single coverage and contains the equivalent of 41 1:250 000 map sheets.
(9174) LRTAP Watersheds - The LRTAP pilot study utilized its own watershed definition for southern Ontario and complements the CLI collection. This map depicts the principle watersheds of Canada, sub-divided into small watershed units.
(9259) SHILTS Bedrock Geology, derived from the bedrock geology coverage (9162), this coverage has associated sensitivity rating and bedrock type coding.
The Watersheds and Shilts Bedrock Geology were stored as a single coverage and contain six 1:1 million map sheets.
This collection also consists of numerous overlay coverages. One should refer to the finding aid to determine the focus of these thematic coverages and the associated coverage codes.
