This accession consists of operational records from the Manitoba Regional Office of the Department of Industry, Science and Technology Canada that were created and/or maintained by its predecessors, the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce and the Department of Regional Economic Expansion, subsequently the Department of Regional Industrial Expansion.

Records from the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (circa 1982) include but are not limited to the following: file blocks 2260-2290- Cooperation and Liaison - International, Provincial, and Universities; 2670-2680- Market Development (Fairs, Exhibitions, Missions, Visits, etc.); 2750- Policy Development (includes Aboriginal Economic Development); 9010-9388- Tourism (includes Committees, Task Forces, Marketing, Research and Analysis, Regional Planning and Implementation, etc.).

Records from the Department of Regional Economic Expansion and/or Department of Regional Industrial Expansion (circa 1983-1988) include but are not limited to the following: file blocks 6656- Support for Technology Enhanced Productivity (STEP); 6850-6864- General Development Agreements (including subsidiary agreements for Manitoba Northern Development, Tourism); 7050- DRIE Programs - General; 7180- Special Agricultural and Rural Development Act Program (Special ARDA) Case Files; 7996- Economic and Regional Development Agreements (subject files); 7997- Program for Export Market Development (PEMD subject files).
