Series consists of reports and memoranda written by Mary Macdonald to Lester B. Pearson during his absences from Ottawa, 1948-1967, although the majority of reports date from 1951 to 1957. The reports updated Pearson on cabinet and political news, constituency matters, as well as society and sports news. The series also includes a file on office organization and copies of PMO correspondence. There is also a transcript of a Gerda Munsinger magazine interview, which was given to Mary for safe keeping. Finally the series includes draft chapters of Pearson's memoirs.

The photographs include portraits of Pearson, press photographs, images taken in his Algoma constituency, Pearson's 1964 visit to Paris, and the 1968 leadership convention. There are also personal photographs of Pearson's gravesite, and photographs with Maryon Pearson in the 1970s.

The series also includes a live audio recording of Pearson's Nobel Peace Prize address at the University of Oslo, Norway, 11 December 1957, recorded by Norsk Rikskringkasting. The recording includes the introduction of Pearson to the audience (in Norwegian) and the first half of Pearson's address. A textual copy of the complete speech, however, is available in the Lester B. Pearson fonds, MG 26 N 9, vol. 13. The sound quality is very good.
