This accession consists of central registry files created and/or maintained by Parks Canada, Department of the Environment, transferred from the Yellowknife Office, Parks Canada. The files document Parks Canada's regional operations covering a broad range of subjects including but are not limited to: the National Parks Centennial; Management Committee files and files for other Committee and Working Group files related to Northwest Territories and Yukon programs; Superintendent Conferences; Arctic Strategic Planning; Reports; Program Planning; Policies; Heritage Rivers; Mineral Resources and Development; National Parks; Land Use Planning; and Realty.

This accession also includes files on various Native Claims from the Council of Yukon Indians, Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut, Dene, Metis, Gwich'in, Sahtu, Tlicho DogRib, Makavik, and Smith's Landing First Nation.
Since 2010, archival records are held at the Regional Service Centre in Winnipeg.
