Footage shot on Crevecoeur Island, The Netherlands, of two companies of a Canadian Regiment on the Holland Front, on the southern bank of the Maas River. The Island was captured by Canadian troops from the Germans after heavy fighting and was the final German foothold on this side of the Maas. The troops needed amphibious vehicles to move troops and supplies. A boat which took the cameraman and other Canadians to the island had just returned them to the mainland when enemy mortar fire swamped the craft. The footage shows: medium shot of a "Weasel" being loaded at A Company headquarters with supplies for front line troops; Private Harry Schneider of Montreal laoding ammunition into a Weasel; long shot of road disappearing into the water; countryside scene; Weasel floating around in flooded fields and emerging out of water to road; long shot of Weasel coming down flooded road and onto dry portion, past inundated houses; long shot of boat used for ferrying supplies up to Crevecoeur Island; medium shot of German fortification along banks of dyke; machine gun outpost along island's north bank; and long shot of destroyed bridges along the Maas River.
