Fonds consists of 2,537 photographs showing scenes in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfondland, Nova Scotia, North West Territories, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon. The slides depict National Parks, rivers, lakes, mountains, forts, buildings, and harbours.

The photographs were all taken by Anthony Sloan during his travels across Canada. Sloan worked for the federal government as a photographer, but these photographs were taken by him for personal purposes rather than as part of his professional work.
