Sub-series consists of Toronto-related files organized according to the Energy Mines and Resources (EMR) subject classification system. Macdonald brought these files forward when he became Minister of Finance in 1975 from his EMR portfolio because they were still active or were of continued interest. This sub-series continues from the Toronto-related files (number 117) in the Early Records Re-classified by the Energy Mines and Resources Subject Number Series (vols 96 - 108). There are extensive Toronto related issues (subject 117) such as the Toronto Airport, Pickering Airport, the Canadian Pacific Railway North Toronto subdivision, heritage buildings, the District Heating Study, correspondence with various community groups, and many others. The sub-series includes letters to new Canadians and constituency meetings (subject 115), and some of Macdonald's personal correspondence from March 1972 until 28 February 1977 (subject 175-1).
