Series sheds light on aspects of Macdonald's election campaigns, particularly those for 1965 and 1974. Among the records are some of Macdonald's personal working papers from campaigns, as well as constituency records as late as 1977. Several lists are here of Rosedale election workers, both potential and actual. Two of those lists are 100-plus page early computer lists, 1972 and 15 July 1974, in which names are arranged by poll and then in alphabetical order. The election records for 1974 are divided into many files with specific titles. One file (vol 16 file 12) contains personal letters from 1971 between Macdonald and John Stewart, one of his principal aides

Series also documents patronage arrangements during May 1963 - January 1965 for lawyers to get Canadian Government legal business, particularly with Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation, in Alberta. Similar correspondence for Toronto is in the "Second Election sub-series" (vol 14, files 6-11), and from Ontario and elsewhere in the "Appointment to Offices sub-series"
