Fonds consists of REAL Women of Canada's national office records including board, financial and administrative records, briefs, submissions, and position papers as well as extensive research and reference materials relating to a variety of positions it has taken on human rights and social policy issues including abortion, affirmative action, day care, divorce, drugs, equal pay for work of equal value, homosexuality, marriage, pension reform, pornography and prostitution, and reproductive choice. Board of Directors meeting and correspondence series contains the sub-series Gwen Landolt papers. Also included are records relating to its chapters, conferences and media links; approaches to the federal and provincial governments and politicians; judicial issues including court interventions; REAL Women pamphlets, press releases and magazine articles; Gwen Landolt's files and articles; and contacts with the United Nations, the World Congress of Families and a large number of Canadian and international associations.

The VHS tape is one created by REAL Women of Canada illustrating their mandate and activities.

REAL Women of Canada : REAL Women of Canada (Realistic, Equal, Active for Life) is a non-denominational women's organization representing a broad spectrum of independent Canadian women across Canada who promote equal opportunity and advancement for women in contemporary Canadian society while preserving traditional pro-family and pro-life values. It has taken positions on a variety of human rights and social policy issues and prepared position papers and briefs on them including: marriage, divorce, day care, equal pay for work of equal value, affirmative action, pornography and prostitution, reproductive choice and pension reform.

It was founded in February 1983 by a small group of women led by C. Gwendolyn Landolt, who wanted to establish an alternative voice for women to the feminist ideology of organizations such as the publicly-funded National Action Committee on the Status of Women. REAL Women was incorporated in the fall of 1983, and is funded primarily from membership dues and donations. It is a non-governmental organization which has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

Since its founding, REAL Women has engaged in a wide variety of activities. It lobbies government and parliamentarians, makes presentations to parliamentary committees, produces a bi-monthly newsletter 'Reality', monitors the media and gives interviews, is involved in public education activities and intervenes in cases before the Supreme Court of Canada dealing with family issues including homosexuality and abortion.
