Collection search - Computer printouts related to the Commission of Inquiry into the Marketing of Beef [textual record]

Accession consists of computer printouts relating to beef prices from the Commission of Inquiry into the Marketing of Beef. The printouts relate to live price/carcass price meat sales, prices for different types of meat products, and breakdowns relating to wholesale, receipts and shipment.

This accession contains working files related to the Royal Commission on Beef Prices from the old Machine Readable Archives Division. These related textual records were held as unorganized background material and were organized into an accession when a custody audit turned up the records outside the corporate records keeping system. Technically these records were never acquired as archival records but as working papers whose status would be determined subsequent to processing of the electronic data file. The accession status is for the purpose of codifying appraisal and custodial treatment hereafter. Some of the material may not be archival but cannot be disposed without the concurrence of the National Archivist.
