Attached: In the old days teepees of the Plains Tribes were always covered with buffalo hide. Bold designs which had special significance to the Indians were painted upon them. Many of these old designs have been lost forever and few Indians today know the meaning of those that remain..
Indians on the plains still enjoy living in teepees in warm weather and in the summer many of them may be seen pitched beside their houses. They use white man's canvas to cover them nowadays instead of buffalo hides and white man's paint has replaced the old natural dyes which their forefathers used for decorative purposes..
