Charlotte's mother tries to comfort her, but Charlotte lies crying on a sofa.~Charlotte decides to kill Marat. Putting a scarf on her head, she leaves the house. After asking directions of a street loafer, she reaches Marat's house and is let in by the sentry. After searching through the house Charlotte finds Marat in a hip bath. She rushes in and stabs him. Immediately, she is arrested and is led away to appear before a tribunal where she is charged and sentenced to the guillotine.~Charlotte receives last rites in prison and is led to the guillotine where the mob has gathered.
